The Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home and Mausoleum (including its "America the Beautiful" rose gardens, Rock of Ages waterfalls, and nationally acclaimed Veterans Honor Court, recognized by two United States Presidents for our work to honor our nation's veterans) is seeking to immediately hire a talented and experienced gardener / landscaper. Our ornamental, flower gardens are on par with (and many people have commented, throughout the years, that our gardens exceed) the world-renowned Broadmoor Resort.
While this is initially a seasonal position, the right person, with additional skills and flexibility to perform a wider variety of tasks (to maintain and improve our facilities), may be retained for meaningful, long-term, year-round employment (if desired by the employee).
Applicants who have previous, relevant experience/skills with gardening (flowers, roses, ornamental plants), general landscaping, irrigation systems, and planting/maintaining trees and bushes are most desired.
Other valuable skills (but not necessary for this immediate job) include: general building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC systems, flooring installation (tile, carpet, etc.), and power equipment operations (Walker zero turn mower, chainsaw, chipper, farm tractor, backhoe, skid steer, and forklift).
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with a person's abilities, experience, education, and work product.
