Private training and lesson barn, located on the northeast side of Black Forest seeks a responsible, single person for morning barn chores 5 days per week, to include: feeding, turn-out, cleaning stalls and buckets and preparing evening feed, etc. Looking for person who would like to live on-site and work in trade for housing. Perfect for a student or even someone with a day job in the area. Opportunity for extra work paid according to job and experience.
The housing is located adjacent to the equine facility on our 35 acre horse farm, safe and secure behind locked gate. The housing is a nice, small, skirted trailer, perfect for one, recently remodeled. It has a bathroom with shower, kitchen area with refrigerator/freezer, oven, stovetop and microwave, living/dining area, bedroom area and front deck. Water, gas and electricity are included. Laundry facilities available on-site.
This is a rugged, farm job. Horse handling experience is REQUIRED. Horses require care in all types of weather so the ability to work in cold is necessary. You should be able to recognize injury or illness in horses. You must be able to lift 60 pounds. We are located in a rural area approximately 15 minutes drive to closest stores, etc, so you will need to have reliable transportation.
This is a part-time job in exchange for housing and utilities with additional paid work sometimes available. You will need another source of income.
