A local door manufacturer is looking to hire a variety of individuals, from those who are interested in learning to people who are skilled and ready to work. Those interested should be ready to sand, assemble, build and wrap custom doors and jambs.
Come be a part of a small manufacturing business making high end, custom, oversized pivot doors. Pivot Door Company has been in business for over 9 years. As we grow we’re looking for good natured, energetic woodworkers to help us expand. The work environment is friendly and cooperative. Hours are 7am - 3:30pm Monday thru Friday, 40 hours a week. We do not install or visit job sites. All work is done in our manufacturing warehouse.
MILLWORK/MILL DEPARTMENT: Milling hardwood lumber to specific dimensions and quality expectations to be used for door faces or door jambs by utilizing machinery such as a planer, jointer, table saw, chop saw, resaw, drum sander, clamp carrier, etc.
Interested individuals should:
● Be good problem solvers
● Pay attention to detail and quality
● Be accurate with a tape measure
CRATE ASSEMBLY: Build wooden crates for shipping the doors by utilizing a table saw, chop saw, pneumatic stapler, nail gun, drill, and driver. This position could be considered similar to framing due to the materials, tools and skillset.
Interested individuals should:
-Be familiar with how to safely use the tools mentioned
-Be accurate with a tape measure
-Be willing and ready to cut and lift heavy sheets of plywood, OSB, 2x4s and similar building products.
FINISH/CUSTOM CARPENTER: Install windows, trim, hardware, inlays etc. into custom pivot doors.
Interested individuals should:
● Be comfortable with a wide variety of woodworking tools, techniques and procedures with a high degree of quality.
● Experience is a must for this position, looking for those who take pride in their work quality with a good attitude and integrity.
JAMB SANDING/FINISHING (entry level): take the finalized jamb components and sand them to a finish quality, making various repairs such as chip/blowout repair and knot filling. Using pneumatic sanders and sanding blocks.
Interested individuals should:
● Pay attention to detail and quality
● Be accurate with a tape measure
● Experience with the tools is a plus, however, is not required.
● Be prepared to spend full 8/hr days sanding wood components.
JAMB MACHINE/ASSEMBLY: Use various power tools, including table saws, router tables, routers and hand tools, to layout, machine and construct jamb components such as, headers and thresholds and jamb legs.
Interested individuals should:
● Have experience with woodworking and carpentry and am comfortable working at a fast pace.
● Be familiar with how to safely use the tools mentioned
● Be accurate with a tape measure
● Be a problem solver with a mind for detail, and quality.
MATERIAL CUTTER: Using various saws cutting metals and sheet goods up to quality expectations to be used for door faces or door jambs by utilizing machinery such as a table saw, chop saw, clamp carrier, metal band saw etc.
Interested individuals should:
● Have experience with saws (a plus) but not required
● Good attitude as you’re working with a team
● Pay attention to detail and quality
● Be accurate with a tape measure
Other things to consider: This is a manufacturing warehouse. Temperatures will vary. It will be a dusty, noisy environment. Eye protection is required at all times.
Interested individuals must be able to lift and carry up to 74 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 100 pounds.
Compensation:
$18/hr-20/hr, depending on skill level, position and production; paid time off can be earned, some holidays are paid.
