POSITION PURPOSE:
The Painter is responsible for refinishing of all assigned vehicles, following the written repair order and Williams Body & Paint operational excellence processes. The Painter plays a key role in delivering on promise of speed, quality and customer satisfaction. (Ask about our apprenticeship program.)
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS:
1. Meets daily with repair Goals & paint team to prioritize work efficiently to meet deadlines. Prepares spray-out panels to determine blend needs.
2. Team Engagement Is an active and prepared participant in morning board meetings. Knows status of assigned vehicles and keeping all vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery.
3. Ensures preparations, top coating and curing meet OEM recommended standards for proper application sequence, timing and materials usage. Maintains acceptable cost per paint labor hour.
4. Safe & Organized Workplace: Follows proper refinishing procedures in compliance with OSHA guidelines. Adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
-Ability to use selected vendor materials efficiently and cost effectively.
-Demonstrated commitment to continued learning by participating in ongoing I-CAR Pro
-Predictable and reliable attendance required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:
-Periodic lifting and carrying objects over 50 pounds.
-Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to complete or inspect repairs.
-May be required to inspect vehicles outdoors in inclement weather.
-Visual acuity for color matching.
-May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, high levels of dust and noise in repair center. Must be able to wear protective equipment, including respirator.
