Job Description: Design Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Design
Status: Full time/Exempt
Position Overview: Eldorado Climbing’s Design Coordinator supports the Design team by drafting drawings for shop fabrication and installation plans of custom climbing wall designs. In addition to drafting, the Design Coordinator may also be responsible for creating custom climbing wall designs as well as assisting the Design Director in the development of new products.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Reviews rough sketches, construction drawings, and project specifications.
Works with the Design team to create fabrication and installation drawings for custom climbing wall designs.
Creates CNC files for climbing wall panel production.
Creates climbing wall panel layouts for installation drawings.
Creates 3D models and rendering packages for outgoing proposals.
Sources and gathers parts and materials needed for new products.
Creates production drawings for prototypes.
Develops material lists for fabrication and installation (BOMs)
Supports project management and installation crews during construction.
Performs other tasks as determined by the Director of Design
Represents Eldorado Climbing in the industry
Skills / Requirements
BS or greater in Architecture or Engineering preferred.
2+ years of experience in drafting, engineering, industrial design, or another relevant field.
Proficiency in Trimble SketchUp and Autodesk Revit
Experience with AutoCAD, Vcarve, Solidworks, Adobe Suite, Excel preferrable.
General knowledge of structural engineering.
General knowledge of standard construction methods and materials.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and successfully execute multiple assignments concurrently.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to effectively communicate design ideas through email, phone/web conferencing, and presentations.
