Privately owned engineering and manufacturing firm in Westminster, Colorado is seeking a full-time applicant for a Mechanical Engineer / CAD Drafter / Technician position. This job would require candidates to fulfill responsibilities at an on-location office desk (60%), the fabrication shop floor (35%), and on-site travel (5%); no remote / telecommuting position available due to workshop hands-on fabrication and quality control requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Working environment of being apart of collaborative engineering team, where projects can be be both individually produced or within group setting(s) to achieve end products / goals set by clients
Design and draft components, sub-assemblies, systems and structures in Solidworks and AutoCAD
Compute, compile and proof submittal drawings and component data for clients
Produce shop package drawings, with appropriate GD&T for both in-house and outsourced fabrication
Assist in fabricating components through the use of in-house equipment, tooling, and industry standards
Verify fabrication of components are properly built to print; ensure quality control check before supplying to client
Assemble components and sub-assemblies (lifting of maximum 75lbs) to provide technical service and support to clients
Assist shop employees with fabrication, in-bound and out-bound deliveries
May work on call, and / or weekends with little or no advance notice to ensure project(s) are completed / delivered on scheduled deadlines
Requirements:
Completed High School Diploma (minimum), Drafting Certificate / Courses (helpful), or Completed Community College (helpful)
Novice user of Solidworks
Proficient user of AutoCAD
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word | Excel | Publisher | Access)
Above average mechanical aptitude and critical thinking
Accepts and offers constructive criticism accordingly for professional improvements
Professional and effective communication skills through verbal, visual, and written form
Operate with integrity with colleagues and clients by face-to-face design meetings, phone conversation and email
Complete tasks / projects on time in a very accurate manner; often times in tight and critical deadlines
Organized individual being able to multitask; ability to switch between projects quickly when commanded
Physical activity including, but not limited to, walking, bending, stooping, or climbing is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent Community College or University graduate
Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering
Intermediate user of Solidworks
Experienced user of AutoCAD
Design experience and hands-on experience in manufacturing environment
Knowledge of sheet metal design, mechatronics and machine design
Compensation:
Hourly or Salary wage depending on experience and knowledge, along with available 401K / profit sharing, health insurance, paid vacation.
