Assistant Director - Calabrese Youth Center

Position: Calabrese Youth Center Assistant Director Schedule: 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday with flexibility to be on-call and work evenings and weekends where necessary. Starting Salary Range: $70,000-$87,500 annually

The stated starting salary pay range for this position is meant to reflect a range of where a typical entry level candidate would start and is not meant to be all inclusive. Additional education and experience may result in a starting pay outside of the stated range.

As a CYC Assistant Director you will be a valuable asset to Laradon’s mission by prioritizing the quality of care to youth, families and employees by ensuring staff is are properly trained. Coordinate the administration, operation and program services for the Calabrese Youth Center (CYC).

No day is ever alike but you can generally look forward to the following responsibilities:

Develop onboarding training material for residential counselors.

Develop ongoing training material for residential counselors and program managers.

Work with director, clinical and residential counselors in designing remedies for service gaps and for successful transitions to the step down program.

Meet regularly and supervise staff to assure coordination of activities.

Ensure children/youth’s medical and health needs are met by supporting Nurse/Care Coordinators.

Coordinate with clinical, behavioral and programmatic services to gather required data to develop improvement plans for each child/youth served.

Schedule and guarantee adequate shift coverage and document overtime.

Assist with monitoring the budget for Calabrese Youth Center.

Analyze and evaluate programs effectiveness and make recommendations to the Director for changes and improvement.

Assist the Director with developing or revising Laradon policies and procedures pertaining to programs in the department while ensuring compliance with the general operating philosophy of Laradon as well as regulations and requirements.

Establish a leadership role to inspire and develop staff in order to meet Laradon’s mission.

Assist the Director in developing the goals and objectives in the Annual Business Plan.

Comply with standards of regulatory agencies and take corrective follow up action.

Ensures the completion and submission of incidents reports (PMRs and GERs).

Participate in referral and discharge meetings.

Coordinate participation with Director for monthly staffings.

Assist with managing licensing requirements.

Assess work performance and ensures quality service provision through ongoing supervision and observation of CYC staff in support of positive engagement in the program.

Serve as an Ambassador of Laradon to the community.

On-call 24 hours by cell phone.

We ask that you bring the following assets to our workplace:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field.

A minimum of five years’ experience in the human services field, three years of which was at a management or supervisory level.

Maintain all professional certifications, licenses and trainings

Valid driving license, good driving record and must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full workdays; ability to speak or exchange information in an audible manner.
