AECOM is seeking an initiative-taking mechanical engineer with a pumping and piping system background to be based in the Denver, Colorado office, to support projects in both the feasibility and detailed design phases.Job Summary/ Responsibilities:Perform project design work such as conceptual studies, process flow diagram development, P&IDs, mass balances, equipment sizing and selection, as well as datasheets.Assist in the development of design documents including equipment and piping layouts, pipeline alignment plan and profiles, materials specifications, equipment specifications and vendor data requirements.Assembling calculation packages for the sizing of mechanical and process equipment such as pumps, tanks, piping systems, etc. Ability to identify discrepancies in results and presents alternative solutions to solve the identified discrepancies.Developing reports in Microsoft Word to communicate the technical results of these calculations or design packages, including summaries, figures, tables, methodologies, and explanations.Perform detailed technical bid analyses for mechanical equipment such as pumps, tanks, valves, and piping components.Review of vendor shop drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards as well as project specific requirements.Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer by gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established procedures.Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with minimal supervision and independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering scope.Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually and in a team environment both verbally as well as in written communications with team members outside of the home office.
