Payroll Supervisor/Manager

Description We are seeking a skilled Payroll Supervisor to oversee the payroll department of pour client and ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for the employees. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and thorough knowledge of payroll processes and regulations.Key Responsibilities:

Supervise Payroll Team: Manage and lead a team responsible for processing payroll activities, including timekeeping, payroll processing, tax reporting, and payroll adjustments.

Ensure Compliance: Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance with tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and other legal requirements.

Process Payroll: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, including salary, hourly, and commission-based employees.

Manage Payroll Systems: Maintain and optimize payroll systems to ensure efficient processing and accurate record-keeping. Collaborate with IT department on system updates and enhancements.

Resolve Payroll Issues: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner. Provide guidance and support to payroll team members as needed.

Generate Reports: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as required. Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement.

Audit Payroll Records: Conduct regular audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Coordinate with HR: Collaborate with the HR department on matters related to employee compensation, benefits, and deductions.

Provide Training: Train new employees on payroll processes and procedures. Conduct ongoing training for existing staff to ensure understanding of any updates or changes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Colorado Payroll experience required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Thorough understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and wage and hour laws.

Proficiency in payroll software and systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
