Description of JobThe salary range for this position:$32.74 - $39.30 Hourly $2,619.23 - $3,144.00 Biweekly $5,675.00 - $6,812.00 Monthly $68,100.00 - $81,744.00 Annually The Strategic Business Technology (SBT) team collaborates with the Divisions of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment creating alignment between technology solutions and business missions. We provide foundational insight, data, and technical experience enabling a sustainable technology strategy to achieve optimal business value. We oversee the portfolio of IT assets and projects, develop and implement governance around IT assets and projects and ensure usability, scalability, sustainability, accessibility, and security for all IT assets for CDLE. We are CDLE liaisons for both vendors and the Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT).The SBT Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering technology projects that provide exceptional business value to users. The PM may be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects using a variety of methodologies in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions. The PM’s goal is to successfully deliver technology changes that meet the needs of the Division supporting their missions. The PM will complete this through the following principles:Maintain active and respectful stewardship through operating within CDLE’s values of accountability, agility, collaboration, and respect while embracing equity, diversity and inclusion. Seek to understand and create a collaborative team environment on all projects.Manage accurate stakeholder expectations through understanding stakeholder interest, influence, and impact to achieve project success. Proactively engage project stakeholders through appropriate communications and meetings based on project needs to include project kickoffs, weekly or biweekly status meetings, open office hours, steering committees, requirements, design and feedback sessions, etc. Focus on value through all aspects of project management and delivery. Work with stakeholders to establish the clear business need, project justification, and strategy. Establish clear project outcomes that are iteratively assessed and updated throughout projects embracing any necessary changes as business needs adjust to deliver optimal values with stakeholder alignment.Evaluate and respond to systems interactions through awareness of any changing system dynamics while keeping a holistic view of systems in mind, challenging any assumptions, seeking any external advice and review, and surfacing any uncertainty or ambiguity. Tailor project leadership styles to meet the situations through focusing project teams around goals, clear articulation of project goals and outcomes, proactively seeking support including resources or guidance, adapting communication styles to audience, negotiating conflicts, rewarding positive behaviors of colleagues and project teams, demonstrating empathy for project teams and stakeholders, adapting to change, and embracing a fail-fast mentality for effective learning.Drive quality throughout by proactively ensuring stakeholder expectations are understood and acceptance criteria is met as part of deliverables and outcomes.
