Grateful Bread Company, a high-volume wholesale and retail bakery, is seeking an experienced Assistant Pastry Baker to join our team. Full-time hours, either Mon - Fri or Tues - Sat.
The Assistant Pastry Baker will help with pastry production, preparing a wide range of pastries for our retail operation including Danish, turnovers, muffins, scones, chocolate babka, croissants and cookies and will also assist in making breads.
We need someone who:

- is routine-oriented, with the ability to adapt

- has the ability to work with their hands to create a wide variety of pastries and artisan bread shapes
- is fast on their feet, able to lift 50 pounds or more
- has an understanding of health and safety procedures in a professional kitchen setting

Our founder has been baking artisan breads for over 40 years, and he has developed our custom formulas to meet the needs of our chef-driven restaurants. Every Saturday we open a retail shop to the public which includes a selection of exclusive pastries, pretzels and specialty breads.
We don't use any chemicals or preservatives, and we use natural starters and long fermentation processes to create true Old-World-style artisan breads. We use a different starter for nearly every type of dough, including our 24-year-old natural sourdough starter, which is what gives our breads their unique character and flavor.
Our guiding philosophy is uncompromising dedication to quality, maintaining the integrity of the artisan process, using only the very best all-natural ingredients, and creating an environment for artisan bakers to thrive. We are located at the eastern edge of Golden (Lakewood is across the street), approximately 15 to 20 minutes west of Denver via 6th Ave / I-70. Close to light rail station.
