Ember Hostel in Denver is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Hostel Manager to lead our vibrant team.
As a 65-bed hostel bustling with up to 80 guests daily, we offer an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about creating memorable travel experiences and building a dynamic travel community. Our ideal candidate thrives on autonomy, loves the challenge of facility maintenance, and has a knack for leading a young, diverse team of travelers.
Job Responsibilities:
Exceptional Guest Service: Provide indulgent guest service, even on your worst days.
Facility Maintenance: Conduct daily facility walk-throughs to ensure proper room and stall function and appearance. Identify and manage basic facility maintenance repairs daily, from toilets to door handles to dishwashers.
Operations Management: Oversee our web-based Property Management System (PMS) and Online Travel Agencies (OTAs). Source and purchase hostel inventory. Ensure proper daily guest flow and experience.
Team Leadership: Supervise and train reception staff. Build and manage a cohesive team of enthusiastic travelers.
Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of all guests.
Community Building: Contribute good vibes to our communal atmosphere.
Work Schedule:
- Five 8-hour shifts per week, including evenings and weekends.
- On-call for overnight urgent issues, as the first point of contact when in-house staff cannot resolve issues.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in guest service or hospitality.
- 1+ years of guest service management experience.
- Proficiency with computers, Wi-Fi, and web-based programs.
- Hostel experience (a plus).
- Handy with tools (a plus).
Pay and Benefits:
- $60-65k/year.
- 10 PTO days, accrued.
- Health care reimbursement, monthly.
