Position Summary:

As a Lead Line Cook, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen during service, managing the line, maintaining the quality and consistency of dishes, and mentoring junior line cooks. You will work closely with the owner to execute the menu while upholding the restaurant’s commitment to consistent, outstanding food and service.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations & Service:

- Execute all menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards, ensuring the highest quality, taste, and presentation.

- Manage and lead the line during service, ensuring all stations are prepared, food is cooked to specification, and dishes are plated consistently.

- Expedite orders efficiently to ensure the timing, temperature, and presentation are met during peak service hours.

- Ensure proper portion control and minimize food waste.

Preparation & Organization:

- Oversee daily prep and station setup, ensuring that all mise en place is fresh, stocked, and ready for service.

- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Team Leadership & Training:

- Provide leadership and guidance to line cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring proper training and mentoring on cooking techniques, plating, and kitchen standards.

- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment that supports growth, development, and collaboration.

Inventory & Cost Control:

- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering

- Assist in managing food costs by minimizing waste, optimizing prep processes, and ensuring efficient use of ingredients.

- Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients to maximize freshness and minimize waste.

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, fine dining kitchen, preferably in a leadership role as a line cook or similar.

- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and clear understanding of Satchels brand

- Strong understanding of New American cuisine, with a passion for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

- Proficiency in a variety of cooking techniques, including sautéing and grilling.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

- Strong communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team.

- Knowledge of health and safety standards, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Demonstrated proficiency in working each kitchen station

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($25.00 - $26.00)
