The National Telluride is pleased to announce we are hiring for the winter 24-25 season. The National is a modern Mediterranean restaurant nestled in the heart of the San Juan mountains in the historic town of Telluride CO. With an emphasis on sustainably sourced seafood, hand made pasta and all things mediterranean, The National strives to not only be the best place to eat but also the best place to work. We draw inspiration from the shores of Italy to Morocco to Lebanon.

Responsibilities: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Preparation and execution of all dishes

Inventory and ordering of items predominantly used within the department

Communication and establishment of dish pars

Knowledge of all culinary functions in the kitchen

Trouble-shooting any problems that may arise

Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen

Station maintenance and cleanliness

Maintain a positive, pleasant, attitude every shift

Other duties as assigned

Essential Requirements:

Available to work various shifts, weekends and holidays.

Ability to walk and stand during entire shift.

Ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and cut.

Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time.

Frequent washing of hands

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cutting, burning, slipping, tripping

Required Experience and Skills:

Culinary degree and/or 2 yrs cooking experience

Culinary knowledge and skills

Organizational skills and multi-task oriented
