Caregiver/Personal Care Provider (Denver Metro Area)
Our established R&A healthcare facility is in search of an experienced and compassionate Caregiver/Personal care provider who understands the importance of meeting the needs of clients while helping them maintain a high quality of life. We are looking for committed individuals who have impeccable communication skills, and can problem solve on the spot. Our Caregivers/Personal care providers have a reputation for being cheerful and receptive as they administer non-skilled care to our Special need’s clients. We are seeking someone who would be a great fit with our team, who is kind, caring and compassionate.
The services are non-skilled for our in-home clients with special needs range from children to seniors. Typical duties include companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, shopping, personal cares, respite, transportation, etc.
We will train a right person. However, experience of working with Adults with the Mental Deficits is a plus.

CLIENT’S NEEDS:
This special family has 3 kiddos under the Autism spectrum among other developmental disabilities, and are being homeschooled with ABA, BT’s and other various therapists. The caregiver would need to be able to tackle on all 3 kids at one time, so behavioral experience is a MUST. This special person needs to be well diversified in the behavioral realm of care. Each child has their own unique behaviors and can sometime lead to another sibling to react to the behaviors. We are looking for someone who is confident in their abilities to take charge, quick with conflict resolution, as well as creating a teamwork environment.
The kids need to be kept accountable for their actions. Discipline with taking the “fun” out of care is imperative for each of them to maintain the structured home environment they need. Giving the kids an option or a choice is essential for them to grow, however your end goal with that day needs to be respected as you will be “in charge”. Encouraging them to help clean up each mess they make with either games or crafts helps them learn responsibilities and helps them see the importance of taking care of their belongings. Doing this also helps mom maintain her home as she leaves it each day.
There are allergies between all 3 of them, and the caregiver needs to be attentive to knowing which kiddo can or cannot have certain foods so cooking is also a must for the caregiver. But mom does encourage them in trying new foods so please feel free to bring your daily meals with you and eat with the kids.
We are also looking for someone to be comfortable with changing diapers as the youngest child will need more hands-on assistance due to one of his disabilities. Being a good listener to each kiddo is also essential as well as treating them as if there is no disability hindering them. Being patient and understanding that a meltdown will happen but knowing that the structure environment is key in keeping a sane and safe home.
These 3 kiddos are so much fun to work with! If you know how to handle special needs kids and can spot behaviors, there will be no issues while they are in your care. Meltdowns can and will happen but with the right caregiver the levels of the behaviors can be brought down to a minimum.
Schedule is as follows:
Community Connections 2 times a week, Wednesday and Fridays from 8am to 3:30pm. The provider needs to be comfortable with all 3 kids while out in the community. The ABA therapist will also accompany each outing or fieldtrip as well as mom will join in on the fun too. You would be driving mom’s van if she doesn’t accompany you, so you will need to provide current auto insurance.
Requirements:
Must be able to pass the background check and have reliable transportation. CPR certificate required within 90 days of hire.
