Arborist/Experienced Tree Climber - Starting Immediately

Colorado Trees is a locally owned Full-Service Tree company. Crew size is anywhere between 3-6 people depending on size and scope of the job, but we run with an everyday 4-man crew of 2 climbers and 2 Groundsman. We are looking for 1 Climber/Arborist that will be in the field 3-4 days per week, starting immediately. As we get into the Winter we may go down to less days per week, but at a minimum we have been doing at least two days per week December-February, only time will tell on that though, as are currently booking 3–4 day weeks into January. We are looking for experienced climber only! If you are not an experienced climber, our apologies, but we are not looking to train at the moment. The business has been growing and over the last 8 years has gotten busier and busier into the winter, so workflows may vary during that time of year. We are looking for people that want to find a company to call their own for multiple years if the shoe fits.

Job Description fluctuates depending on the job but will include any or all of the below.

- Follow safety setup protocol and review of scope of work on each site

- Maintain a professional and personable demeanor on each job site

- Climb and trim proficiently in various species and sizes of trees to complete work scope

- Run ropes from the ground for the climber in the tree while also clearing brush as it falls, when possible and necessary

- Clear brush as it comes from the tree into piles, then drag brush to be staged near the chipper in an organized manner

- Run chipper to clear piles as they build up and chip into Chip Truck

- Work with Crew Chief to complete the scope of work for each invoice - This position could turn into a Crew Leader position depending on experience.

- Aid in final cleanup at each jobsite with a "Leave no Trace" mentality, leaving the areas worked in looking better than when we arrived

- Take care of and protect yourself throughout the day by having a 360-degree awareness in what is a potentially dangerous work environment

Potential Employees will have as many of these skills and equipment as possible.

- Ability to enter and move throughout the canopy of various sized species of trees in order to complete trimming and removal scopes

- Be knowledgeable in canopy rigging techniques in order to protect property and ground workers below

- Have the proper PPE to protect themselves for this type of work (For ground worker skilled people, we will help provide the proper PPE when necessary)

- Be knowledgeable in the use and maintenance of a Vermeer BC1000 XL Chipper

- Ability to run/use a chainsaw safely and properly

- Ability to follow the various processes involved in the daily routines of completing the scopes of work at each site

- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads of brush and logs to be chipped or loaded into the truck

- Have the passion and curiosity for this type of work

- Have a passion for providing quality work and completing each job to the best of their ability

- Ability to work a physically demanding day up to 6-10 hours

- Experience in the tree care industry is a plus and provides a higher starting wage
