Handyman for Rural Mountain Property

We’re seeking a reliable, experienced handyman for ongoing maintenance, repair, and renovation projects on a rural property in the mountains. The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set to manage everything from minor repairs and remodeling to landscaping, snow plowing, and light logging work. This role requires flexibility and a good level of physical fitness to perform various tasks independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Routine maintenance and repair work across the property

Renovation and remodeling tasks as needed

Snow removal, including shoveling and plowing

Basic logging and wood splitting

Handling repairs independently and identifying areas for preventative maintenance

Upcoming projects include:

basement waterproofing

installing heat tape on roofs and gutters

construction of video studio interior (set walls, light electrical, cabling, acoustic insulation)

bucking and splitting logs for firewood

Requirements

Experience: At least 2-3 years in general handyman or property maintenance roles, with a range of skills

Physical Ability: Comfortable climbing ladders, using hand and power tools, lifting 50 pounds, operating machinery (e.g., plow truck, Polaris UTV), and performing physical tasks at high altitudes (the property is at 10,000 feet elevation)

Transportation: Reliable personal transportation with four-wheel drive and snow tires is required

Location: Preference for candidates who live in the mountains nearby, but open to all applicants that are comfortable to commuting daily to 20-minutes beyond Idaho Springs

Availability: Flexible full-time, around 30-40 hours per week, with agreed-upon hours.
