HydroVac/Heavy Equipment Operator
Orion Environmental, Inc., an environmental remediation and demolition company, has an immediate need for an HydroVac/Heavy Equipment Operator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a history of running heavy equipment to get involved with a growing company. This position is based out of our Brighton/Denver, CO office.
The Hydrovac/Equipment Operator is responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation and heavy equipment operation processes. The incumbent operates Hydrovacs and other machines used in construction such as skid-steers, wheel loaders, excavators to excavate, load, dig or break rocks or debris, dirt, or other materials, load trucks, demolish structures, etc. The Hydrovac/Equipment Operator acts as crew lead, responsible for the completion of projects in a safe and timely manner.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation and demolition/excavation projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, structure demolition, material loading/unloading, and digging
Operate Hydrovac trucks and heavy equipment in a safe and professional manner
Supervise activities of Laborers in order to ensure employee skill development
Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for Hydrovac and/or equipment operation as required
Complete all required paperwork properly and within set timelines
Perform pre and post-trip inspections, as well as routine maintenance
Competencies:
Knowledge of basic underground utilities
Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time
Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
Posses a CDL or have the ability to get a CDL within 6 months of employment
Supervisory Responsibility:
Employee acts as crew lead and will oversee the activities of Hydrovac Laborers
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require use of ear plugs. Work is done outside at a client facility or job site that may have inclement weather conditions. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Visual Acuity: must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Hourly: $28-$32/hour, based on experience, plus bonus potentiation, and comprehensive benefits
