Traffic Control Supervisor
Purpose of position: Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects by performing the following duties. This person is responsible for the Safety of traffic movement through the job site.
Certification Requirement:
Current Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification (CCA or ATSSA card)
Essential duties/responsibilities:
· Develops, interprets and implements traffic routing plans or MHT, and type and location of control points from TCS 3, Crew Leader or Project Manager.
· Distributes traffic control signs and markers along site in designated pattern.
· Directs movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.
· Warns laborers and drivers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accidents and injury to workers.
· Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
· Records license number of traffic control violators for police.
· Gives hand marker to last driver in line up of one-way traffic for Flagger at opposite end of site, signaling clearance for reverse flow of traffic.
· Gives direction to flaggers.

Ability to work with a variety of personalities
Ability to work under pressure
Understanding of basic flagging policies, procedures, rules, and state and federal laws.
State valid flagging certification card.
