Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Electrical and Automation RM/Kiln Superintendent, the Electrical Coordinator is responsible for the day to day processing of electrical repairs, updates, and new installation for the entire plant.
Duties and responsibilities
Ability to maintain procedure manuals, document daily repairs, and do reporting as needed.
Able to plan and perform preventative maintenance projects on a regular basis so as to offset the potential of down time.
Assist the maintenance department as needed.
Ability to be flexible to work both the Plant and the Quarry as needed.
Supervise a crew of four to fourteen employees, depending on the location of either the plant or the quarry. Ability to train crew when needed or required.
Safety Responsibilities
Adhere and ensure all CEMEX, MSHA, O.S.H.A., and other safety rules and regulations at all times. Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds (including but not limited to clothing, hardhat, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves, etc.)
Assure all plant personnel (direct and indirect report) work in a safe environment, guarantee all required tools are available to perform a safe task and ensure risk assessments are conducted and follow up on safety hazard identifications and procedures.
Ensure people have skills and training needed to perform in a safe and productive manner, be able to train personnel to assure compliance.
Assures area assigned is up to safety standards, all deviations are identified and corrected.
Participate on safety committees, risk assessment, training, standard work, assist in developing safety programs, monitor plant operations to assist in ensuring safe job performance
Participate in near miss and accident investigations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as electrical engineering with 4 years experience recommended.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
Cement experience and knowledge in quality, operation and maintenance of equipment.
Ability and Leadership to manage and develop people, communication, team work and collaboration with different areas.
Result oriented, identifies issues and drives the decision process, through an analytic mind, coordinate and work on different activities simultaneously
Ability to plan and coordinate activities within supervised personnel and other departments
Self-motivated, fast-learner in high paced working environment
Detail oriented and ability to set priorities and complete goals and objectives in a timely and orderly manner
Ability to work under pressure
Positive customer service attitude
Computer savvy, Microsoft Office software
Working conditions
Exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise and working outside
Must wear all necessary protective equipment while at the location
Physical requirements
Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to a significant degree
Heavy work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning and/or pulling of controls.
