Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Metal Fabricator who ideally holds certification as a welder. The right candidate will have strong skills in metal finishing, which is essential for the high-quality, detailed work we produce. You will play a key role in bringing public art pieces from concept to completion by working with a variety of metals, tools, and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
Fabricate metal components for public art installations.
Work closely with designers and artists to bring artistic concepts to life
Utilize metal finishing techniques (grinding, polishing, etc.) to ensure high-quality results
Ensure projects are completed on time and to specification
Operate various machines and tools in a safe and efficient manner
Inspect and maintain tools and equipment
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a metal fabricator, with a strong portfolio of work
Certified welder (preferred), with proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
Proven experience in metal finishing (grinding, polishing, etc.), especially for aesthetic projects
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Experience working in public art or creative fields is a plus
