Purpose: To enhance public worship by providing beautiful choral music and vocal ensembles for the inspiration of worshipers and to the glory of God.
Responsibilities:
Direct Children’s Choir at weekly rehearsals, periodic public worship services, and special church festivals (e.g., Palm Sunday, Reformation, etc.).
Select choral repertoire that reflects Lutheran theology and liturgical practice.
Organize small groups or individuals in junior high school to sing 2-3 times per year in public worship.
Assist the Director of Christian Education (DCE) with the Children’s Christmas program.
Coordinate choir schedule with Senior Pastor and other music groups (e.g., Adult Choir Director, Worship Accompanists, Handbell Director, etc.).
Other duties as mutually agreed upon.
Requirements:
Criminal Background Check
Experience directing or conducting choirs and other ensembles
Professional keyboard skill (piano and/or organ)
Music degree or minor preferred
