A Brief Overview
Supervise and provide support to a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in order to create a safe and supportive environment for adults with disabilities. Responsible for the daily operation of their team and ensuring quality day services are provided.
What would you do in this position?
Assess work performance of employees and take appropriate action
Create a schedule of activities and adapt as needed
Complete required paperwork and accurately record in departmental database
Monitor training and review timecards of employees and take action if necessary
Interview, train, and coach new employees
Communicate professionally and positively with others
Attend and participate in meetings as required by the department
Promote a positive environment
Identify and resolve workplace problems
Qualifications
What education or experience would you need?
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1 year or more supervisory experience preferred
Experience working with people with disabilities preferred
Valid Drivers License required
What knowledge, skills, or abilities would you need?
Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written forms
Ability to use office equipment such as fax machine, scanner, copier, phone
Advanced communication and leadership skills needed to lead a team
Analytical thinking skills to solve routine problems using common sense
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Basic knowledge of computer software
Basic time management skills
Basic typing and data entry skills
