Responsible for providing support to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities by presenting opportunities to access the community, creating a positive environment, and assisting with daily living activities.
What would you do in this position?
Transport people safely to and from the Day Program and community activities in a company vehicle
Provide opportunities for community access by attending and participating in community activities and events
Support daily living needs, including eating, hygiene, toileting, and more
Assist in planning community activities and events
Perform one-on-one visits at people's houses
Clean and sanitize a multitude of surfaces and locations
Complete paperwork required by department accurately and records in department database
Distribute medication to people safely and accurately
Communicate clearly with others in a respectful and professional manner
Assist people with mobility and transfer according to safety protocols
Host and participate in virtual gatherings
Qualifications
What education or experience would you need?
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid Drivers License required
What knowledge, skills, or abilities would you need?
Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written forms
Ability to use a computer and a tablet
Ability to use office equipment such as fax machine, scanner, copier, phone
Ability to work as a team
Analytical thinking skills to solve routine problems using common sense
Basic ability to drive a large passenger van
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word
Basic time management skills
Basic use of virtual meeting tools
