As we continue to expand our network, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Permit Technician to join our dynamic team.

Position Summary

The Permit Technician is responsible for acquiring permits, maintaining permit compliance and processing permits through the proper city/municipality to meet company deadlines. This position will also be responsible for other assigned administrative duties as outlined by the Operations Manager.

Functions and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

● Lead the acquisition of all necessary permits for the deployment of fiber optic networks, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

● Demonstrate and support a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.

● Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations, and ensure all projects adhere to these standards.

● Prepare, submit, and track permit applications, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.

● Work closely with engineering, construction, and project management teams to understand project requirements and timelines, facilitating smooth project execution.

● Liaise with government agencies, municipalities, and other stakeholders to negotiate and secure permits, addressing any concerns or requirements they may have.

● Identify and resolve any issues or obstacles that may arise during the permitting process, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines.

● Maintain detailed records and reports on permit status, progress, and any issues encountered, providing regular updates to project managers and senior leadership.

Education/Experience

● Associate’s degree in urban planning, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, but not required.

● Minimum of 5 years of experience in permitting, preferably within the telecommunications or construction industry.

● In-depth understanding of permitting processes and regulatory requirements at local, state, and federal levels.

● Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

● Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

● Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve permitting issues efficiently and effectively.

● Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.

● Proficient in using permitting and project management software.

● Must have a clean driving record

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.

Work is performed in an office/home environment.

Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to drive to/from work sites and agencies.

Ability to follow OSHA/State/Local Safety Standards

Ability to walk up to 3 miles per day on terrain such as gravel, pavement, grass, etc

Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00/hr
