Rockland Community Church is looking for an audio engineer, proficient on digital consoles. The candidate should be punctual and calm under pressure and should possess a collaborative spirit. Experience mixing choirs, orchestra, and modern worship ensembles is a plus.
This position reports to the Director of Worship and is responsible for audio mixes for Sunday services, seasonal worship services, and special events. Applicants should be a believer and should affirm our doctrinal statement.
Compensation: $25-30/hour (commensurate with experience), 4.5 hours per Sunday, 2 hr minimum for special events
Essential Functions:
Work Sunday mornings 7:30 am -12 noon, and special events around Christmas and Easter
Attend Sunday morning worship ministry huddle
Mix front of house audio for traditional and contemporary worship services
Follow worship order and anticipate transitions
Simultaneously mix audio for online video stream
Serve the overall mission and core values of Rockland Community Church and its worship ministry
Work closely with our Worship Director, Tech Director, and other worship staff to ensure that the worship
service is executed with excellence, i.e. clear and well-balanced, smooth transitions, minimal distractions
Other Responsibilities:
Mix special events (Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, etc.)
Make stereo backup recording and Preacher iso recording for podcast
Utilize Planning Center Services (respond to schedule requests and view worship order)
Listen to recordings of planned music to gain familiarity with arrangements and mix trends
Save weekly scenes and periodic show files
Build a library of useful presents for channel strips
Identify technical issues and troubleshoot issues with sound equipment to ensure optimal performance
Contribute to the team’s technical decision-making with knowledge of audio equipment and micing
techniques
Report hours to bookkeeper
Other duties as assigned
