Job Description: A&W Auto Body is seeking a skilled Automotive Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive painting and a passion for delivering outstanding results. As an Automotive Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and finishing vehicles to our high standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
1. Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary.
2. Mixing Paint: Mix paint to match vehicle color and specifications, ensuring accurate color matching and consistency.
3. Buffing/ Polishing: Perform detailing work, including wet sanding, buffing, and polishing to return vehicle to pre-accident condition.
4. Quality Control: Inspect finished paint jobs to ensure they meet our quality standards and customer expectations.
5. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean painting equipment, including spray guns, paint booth, and mixing room, to ensure proper function and longevity.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for hazardous waste management to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the team, including technicians, estimators, and management to coordinate workflow and deliver vehicles on time.
Qualifications:
1. Experience: Previous experience as an auto body painter or in a related field is required.
2. Skills: Proficiency in automotive painting techniques, including surface preparation, paint mixing, and application.
3. Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain high standards of quality in all work performed.
4. Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. Safety Conscious: Commitment to following safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
6. Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow.
