Custom Bench Fabricator

The Custom Bench Fabricator position is to formulate a strategic game plan to build work order products in an efficient, organized, and timely manner while maintaining company quality standards.

Reports To: Plant Manager

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Know and understand our products.

- Build a working relationship with the shop staff.

- Review and understand the chain of command.

- Follow production shop safety program.

- Go through Edge certification program for the following tools, table saw, panel saw, shaper, jointer, planer, miter saw and basic hand tools.

- Become proficient with Innergy. Clocking in, time tracking and workflow Kanban.

- Cut list Work Orders as needed

- Do a Work Order “Page Turn” with Plant Manager/shop Foreman to understand the following, items being produce/shipment items, materials, and labor hours.

- Prior to starting a Work Order formulate a game plan to produce product to the production drawings and within the estimated hours. - - Review gameplan with Plant Manager/Shop Foreman prior to production.

- Follow Quality Assurance Process.

- If falling behind on assigned task communicate problems/issues to Plant Manager/Shop Foreman immediately. Also present an action plan to the Plant Manager/Shop Foreman get project back on track.

- Palletize, label and stage product for shipment to Edge’s protocol.

- Practice LEAN building procedures.

- Practice 5S methodology. Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.

- Help out in other departments we required to by Plant Manager/Shop Foreman.

- Develop relationships with engineering department and purchasing department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Valid driver’s license

- Be prompt and adhere to company work schedule.

- You must be 18 or older.

- Be able to lift and carry object’s up to 50lbs.

- Be able to perform physical activities such as standing, crouching, kneeling and reaching activities for long periods of time.

- Be able to perform repetitive activities for long periods of time.

- Be able to work in all weather conditions.

- Read a tape measure.

- Proficient with architectural millwork blueprints.

- Be able to operate shop tools outlined above.

- Have basic computer skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and to prioritize multiple moving deadlines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

- 3 to 5 years’ experience with commercial architectural millwork.

- High School diploma or equivalent.

- Excellent communication skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
