Summary

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for creating accurate cost estimates for electrical projects across various sectors, including Oil and Gas, Industrial, Commercial, Residential, and Biogas. This role involves evaluating project details and collaborating with internal teams to ensure estimates align with company standards and meet client expectations. The Electrical Estimator is instrumental in both securing new projects and facilitating the effective execution of ongoing ones.

Responsibilities

- Calculate total costs for materials, equipment, labor, and utilities for electrical construction projects.

- Review project documentation and analyze specifications.

- Develop estimates to aid in planning, organizing, and scheduling project tasks.

- Handle pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.

- Prepare timely estimates, set work hours, sequence tasks, and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for optimal pricing.

- Ensure all estimates adhere to company standards and fulfill client requirements.

- Submit necessary documents and budgets before bid deadlines.

- Regularly update management and clients on project progress.

- Develop contingency plans to manage potential risks affecting costs and timelines.

- Stay current on the latest estimating technology and industry techniques.

- Collaborate with team members and conduct site visits as needed.

Requirements

- Experience in electrical estimating.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

- Willingness to learn bidding software.

- Valid driver’s license.

- Ability to pass a drug test (UA), Criminal Background Check, and MVR.

Schedule

-5 days on, 2 days off (weekends off).

Safety and Working Conditions

- Maintain clear communication with all team members on-site.

- Attend mandatory safety training sessions, including both customer-specific and company-required programs.

- Understand and follow work permits and all necessary safety documentation.

- Identify potential risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

- Comply with customer and company standard operating procedures (SOPs).

- Be prepared to work in adverse weather conditions.

- Adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
