Low Voltage/Door Access/Video Surveillance Technicians

The truth is obvious! All of the trades are in trouble due to the lack of techs, and particularly, leadership. This means that techs have a lot of leverage on where they choose to work. Are you a tech with at least 5 years of solid experience in our trade? If so, I'd greatly appreciate your feedback, even if you do not intend to apply to work with us.

The major question: If you could choose the most ideal work environment in our industry, what would you like it to be? Your answer should likely be outside rate of pay because we are seeing that high rate of pay is not leading to motivation and happiness (although it does help). We need a solid, solid, solid individual that lead and teach incoming people various low voltage trades. If you are good at this, what exactly would you need to be fulfilled for awhile?

24 years ago, I began working as an independent entrepreneur in the world of low-voltage technology! In 2013, I hired my first employee. And now, currently, we are a small team that needs to be a bit larger! If you're somewhat of a tech geek that likes to work with your hands and not crazy about corporate America, you may have a home here for awhile!

We need installer/service techs and have three possible opportunity paths to offer.

1. Full-Time Standard

- What features would give you incentive to leave your current role to come with us?

- Do you have heavy experience following and ready to step up and lead?

- Would you like to bring in your own team or the chance to building your own team and leave your mark?

2. Part-Time/Freelance Schedule

- I began as a freelance tech, so I get it! I know there are skilled people out there that need opportunities to feel the schedule. Can you help us out when not on your own projects?

3. New Apprentice

- Unfortunately, we cannot really take on any new apprentices unless we are able to attract some more leadership.

What you will be doing:

We all work the same technology projects, mostly commercial and for mostly long-term clients and friends.

- structured cabling (data/voice/fiber/IT-room build out

- access control/keyless entry

- burglar/intrusion alarm

- security camera/video surveillance

- simple audio/video

The Gist:

- All opportunities require employment contracts and enrollment in our payroll system. The reason we are unable to offer 1099 work on most of our opportunities is due the massive change in insurance requirements.

- Are you self-employed? Freelance/part-time allows you some flexibility to choose your projects. Employment is necessary for insurance/contractual reasons.

What you must bring:

- Professional Work Ethic and Appearance

- People Skills

- Positive Attitude

- Motivation

- Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, social security card

- Basic tools of the trade

- Comfortability around tools, ladders, lift equipment, ceilings, crawl spaces, physical and technical work

- AVAILABILITY

Additional Information

- Depending on opportunity path, we do offer accident, hospital, cancer and eye/dental insurance, and holiday pay.

- Our small team installs many different systems and types of electronics. It’s never boring here! This is not corporate America! There is a substantial amount of freedom and flexibility but is still challenging!

- Rate of Pay: Depends on experience, results, tools, opportunity path, and what we negotiate!

What is next?

- If interested, reach out to us. What is more important than a résumé is a cover letter. Tell us about yourself in a few paragraphs! Too many are careless. We are more likely to consider people who put effort into this! If you do not write a cover letter, it is possible we will not respond.

- We will respond to your cover letter by either thanking you and declining or offering you a 10–20-minute phone interview. If the phone interview goes well for both of us, then we will invite you in for an in-person interview.

- OR please, as a lead tech, help out a fellow tradesman that was in the field for over 15 years! What can we offer to help us land healthy, inspired leadership?

Thank you!
