Job Scope
The Mechanic is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of company equipment including small engines, as well as fleet maintenance as assigned by the Fleet Coordinator. The pay range for this position is 22.00 - $27.00 per hour and the Mechanic is also eligible to participate in the snow incentive program and the discretionary annual bonus plan. Job Duties
Maintain and repair all types of grounds, snow and shop equipment consisting of small equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
Maintain a safe, clean and organized shop and work environment at all times.
Check that all equipment is operating properly at all times and that machines do not have any worn parts or worn hydraulic hose.
Assist Fleet Coordinator in maintaining a preventative maintenance program, including a record-keeping system, for repair and maintenance of equipment and fleet.
Assist with bi-weekly vehicle inspection reports for fleet management.
Provide recommendations for replacement of equipment and fleet based on preventative maintenance program.
Order parts and shop materials to maintain parts inventory, as directed by Fleet Coordinator.
Perform minor automotive repair and maintenance (i.e. blubs, fuses, lights, air filters, beacons).
Manage daily equipment checkout to crews and inspect items upon return.
Assist with instruction of safety and maintenance standards of equipment to staff to include monthly safety meetings when required.
Participate in after hours emergency repair of snow removal equipment.
Communicate with management to ensure all equipment is safe to use and available for daily and weekly tasks.
Technical/Professional Knowledge (Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience)
Must have 2 years of experience with small engine repair
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license in good standing.

Work Environment
Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Mechanic should be flexible to work alternate or additional hours to address the needs of the business. The mechanic work schedule may vary depending on weather requirements, including reporting to work during snow events for equipment repair or maintenance.
Work is primarily performed in a maintenance shop setting involving powered hand-tools, mechanical parts and chemicals,. Use of Personnel Protective Equipment will be required as dictated by the type of work performed. Occasionally, work may require dispatch to a field setting environment. In the field, conditions may include regular exposure to heavy or frequent vehicle street traffic, equipment noise, and working with or near moving motorized equipment. The mechanic may be asked to work in wet or humid conditions, extreme cold, or extreme heat.
