Department InformationColorado General AssemblyJoint Budget Committee (JBC)Description of JobADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT IIto the Joint Budget Committee, Colorado General Assembly (State Legislature). The Joint Budget Committee Staff provides nonpartisan support to the legislative committee responsible for developing the state budget. This position provides support to both the committee and staff.Job responsibilities include answering phones, greeting guests, copying/preparing materials for committee meetings, posting documents to the web, scheduling committee meetings, creating reports during committee meetings, picking up and delivering mail, ordering and maintaining office supplies, ordering meals, filing, operating web-based programs, and other duties as assigned. Must be able to work under pressure. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsMinimum requirements:two years of experience in an office environment with a responsible/reliable work history, ability to communicate with a range of individuals, flexibility with occasional long hours/tight deadlines or unexpected duties, attention to detail and reliability in meeting deadlines and completing all steps of complex tasks, word processing/spreadsheet experience, and a curiosity/capacity to learn job-specific applications. Must maintain a respectful and nonpartisan manner with legislators, lobbyists, the public, aides and interns, and staff colleagues. Experience formatting and preparing documents for publication and working with web-based programs preferred.
