Union Colony Children’s Music Academy is seeking an Early Childhood Music Teacher and/or Group Piano Instructor to teach both preschool classroom classes, family music classes, and/or group piano classes, beginning January 19, 2026, or until positions are filled. The ideal candidate will be qualified and interested in both Early Childhood and Group Piano instruction, however candidates interested in one or the other are encouraged to apply for either job.
Union Colony Children’s Music Academy is a non-profit early childhood music and movement academy dedicated to providing access to music and movement education for all children in the Greeley area. UCCMA was founded in 1989, and now offers music classes for children from birth to 12+ years, including adaptive music classes for babies through young adults. Position Descriptions and Qualifications
Early Childhood Music Teacher
The Early Childhood Music Teacher position starting January 2026 includes teaching approximately 4 preschool classes in preschool classrooms per week, plus occasional substitute teaching in our other classes, and starting Summer 2026/Fall 2026 can add teaching regular on-site music and movement family and pre-piano music classes as well as the preschool classroom classes. The job has potential for additional off-site preschool music classes in private or in-home preschools in the Greeley area with teacher interest.
Early Childhood Music Teachers provide engaging music education experiences for young children (birth to five) with and without caregivers. Teachers will lead and sing a cappella, demonstrate and move in a wide variety of locomotor and dance movements, and lead children in musical activities with and without rhythm instruments, in addition to other musical activities. Lesson plans and teaching support are provided. Teachers follow our general school-wide curriculum with the freedom to incorporate your own teaching style/materials if desired.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s or associate’s degree with a major or minor in music and/or training in an early childhood music curriculum (i.e - Kindermusik, Musikgarten, Let’s Play Music, etc.) in addition to early childhood teaching experience is preferred. The Early Childhood Music Teacher candidate should be able to sing on pitch a cappella and keep a steady beat, have strong musical leadership skills, able to communicate clearly with parents, students, and coworkers, creative, organized and a team-player. Fluency in Spanish is desirable but not required.
Group Piano Instructor
The Group Piano Instructor position starts either in January 2026 with paid training and substitute teaching opportunities or in Fall 2026 with approximately 2-4 group beginning piano classes per week during the afternoons/evenings with a potential for a daytime class if desired, plus occasional substitute teaching in our other piano classes. The job has potential to expand into teaching pre-piano classes and other early childhood classes with teacher interest and paid training.
Group Piano Instructors teach engaging group piano lessons using our school curricula framework that includes drumming, dancing, games, movement, and more to create a nurturing and positive learning environment, assess and track student progress for groups of 4 to 7 children (aged 6 to 10 years.) Teachers follow our general school-wide curriculum with the freedom to incorporate their own teaching style/materials as desired.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s (or associate’s degree with pedagogical training) in music in addition to piano teaching experience is preferred. The Group Piano Instructor candidate should be knowledgeable, and have experience with piano pedagogy, solid piano skills, sing on pitch a cappella and keep a steady beat, have strong musical leadership skills, be able to communicate clearly with parents, students, and coworkers, creative, organized and a team-player. Private piano teachers with interest but no group experience are welcome to apply; paid training opportunities in group piano are available for the right applicant. Fluency in Spanish and/or interest in teaching adaptive piano is desirable but not required.
Teaching Calendar and Schedule: UCCMA classes are taught from September to May, with optional Summer Session classes in June and/or July, and school-wide breaks for Thanksgiving week, Winter Break (2 weeks), Spring Break, and August. Teachers are asked to commit to collaboratively created and agreed-upon teaching schedule for a school year and/or summer.

Compensation: Between $22 and $36 per class taught. Teachers are paid per class taught, with classes ranging from 20 to 60 minutes. Set up/clean up and transportation time (if needed) are part of the pay structure for each class.
