Summary:

Under general supervision, assist with general duties of the Finance and Human Resources Department, with an emphasis on Utility Billing duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Post entries to proper accounts including reconciliation of those accounts.

Responsible for all reporting and billing for utility accounts.

Utility account maintenance including set up of new accounts, final reads, modifications.

Daily deposits and deposit reconciliation.

Respond to questions from staff and community members in a clear and concise manner as necessary.

Hold sensitive information in the strictest confidence.

Assist in the development and implementation of adequate internal controls.

Assist with maintaining a system of financial monitoring, control and reporting that is in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Attend training or certification classes as requested or required.

File various documents and maintain accurate account records.

Travel to various training events, classes, meetings including driving or air travel.

Knowledge of general office practices and procedures

Knowledge of basic and business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation

Ability to operate general office equipment including calculator, adding machine, personal computers, copier, printer, fax, telephone, postage meter and envelope stuffer

Ability to learn specialized financial software

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

Ability to perform ordinary mathematical computations

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing and follow oral and written instructions

Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to organize and maintain efficient files

Possess strong analytical skills

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license is required.
