Folks Farm is is urban farm in Fort Collins, CO growing vegetables on 2 acres. Produce is sold through a CSA, Farm Stand, Farmers Market, and wholesale.
We are looking for someone to work directly with the farm owner and crew to run day to day operations on the farm. The ideal candidate will also be available to work weekend Farmers Markets. This job is Full Time from April-October and part time November-March. Work will begin promptly for the right candidate.
Must have 2+ years of experience working in agriculture, ideally crop growing.
Skills and Tasks
-Involved in all aspects of vegetable cultivation from greenhouse work, planting, weeding, irrigating, cultivating, harvesting, and washing
-Helps to identify issues and come up with a plan to remedy
-Works with farm owner to map out weekly tasks
-Leads the crew to accomplish farming tasks
- Involved in tractor work, mechanical cultivation, and seeding
- Understand quality, sales, and customer service are the number one priority
- Warm and out-going personality
- Present a clean, clear, and friendly face to the business
- Engage with new and existing customers to grow sales
- Offer knowledge of vegetable preparation and eating
- Attention to detail
- Able to lift 50 pounds all day in every kind of weather condition
- Organic produce included in employment
Pay depending on experience $15-20+ per hour.
