Summary:
Our Prairie Mountain Media facility is seeking a Lead Press Operator to join our team! This is a temporary position, offering short term opportunity at the Berthoud Printing Plant.
What you will do:
The #1 Press Operator is required to direct the work of Press operators, level 1-3 on any given shift
Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or stackers to be moved and set-up
Start up and monitor press and set color and registration
Monitors stackers for proper operation
Verify Pressroom has stock, plates, and ink for upcoming jobs
Cleans machines and work area daily
Completes job forms and other department documents as necessary
Maintains neat and orderly department, implementing good housekeeping practices
Utilize forklift to retrieve paper rolls from warehouse as needed
Serve as Lead on the shift; not responsible for hiring or disciplinary actions
Perform all press maintenance as needed
What you will bring:
Ability and willingness to and successfully become forklift and pallet jack certified if hired
High school diploma or equivalent required
This position may be required to work night and weekend work and the ability to work a 12 hour shift
Prior press operating experience
Ability to lift products of up to 50 pounds and move rolls of newsprint over a 12 hour shift

The hourly wage is $28.25. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition program, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
