We seek dedicated people who believe they have the skills and ambition to succeed at NREL to apply for this role.Job DescriptionThis position is intended to support transportation deployment projects within Socio-technical Engagement Projects group in the Center for Integrated Mobility Systems. The successful candidate will be involved in executing, developing and/or leading projects that address implementation barriers to a variety of transportation technologies. This could include electric vehicles, alternative fuels, connected vehicles and other transportation strategies that increase efficiency and reduce climate impacts. These projects could focus on technical, analytical and policy solutions, as well as stakeholder engagement and project management. Candidates should be comfortable working with diverse groups of stakeholders, tribes and communities.Specific duties include:

Work with the team and stakeholders to craft innovative, robust projects that advance alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies in the marketplace.

Analyze and support the development of projects, programs and policies for EVs and EV infrastructure

Prepare and track project plans, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.

Engage stakeholders and clients to keep projects relevant and robust.

Execute projects both as a participant and a leader.

Prepare quarterly reports and briefings on projects.

Represent NREL at key industry meetings.

Collaborate across NREL to develop and execute meaningful stakeholder engagement and community engagement

Project Manager III - works independently to design, develop, implement and provide a variety of capabilities to the required systems or projects and has complete understanding and experience with wide application of principles, concepts and techniques in web programming and software development.Project Manager II - works under general supervision with mentorship and oversight from senior members of the team to facilitate scopes of work.Candidates at Level II should possess some of the preferred qualifications with limited proficiency. Those at Level III should cover more of these qualifications and bring a deeper level of knowledge and skill.Basic QualificationsFor Project Manager III LevelRelevant PhD or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Master's Degree and 3 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience.For Project Manager II LevelRelevant Master's Degree or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.Additional Required Qualifications

Knowledge and understanding of the historical and sovereign legal status of Federally recognized tribes and the ability to apply this to DOE requirements for Government-to-Government trust and treaty obligations when accomplishing the NREL mission.

Knowledge of tribal concerns and skill in anticipating or assessing public and tribal reactions to projects/activities and identifying extent of understanding achieved.

Diplomatic skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with tribes.

Social Science Research and Analysis:

Ability to quantify impacts of engagement and identify key themes

Community engagement practical experience

Applied ethnographic methods

Participatory planning methods within urban infrastructure projects

Metrics development and implementation
