JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Wireless Product Strategy team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated and energetic professional that brings a deep knowledge of quantitative analysis and complex business case and financial modeling to the team. Previous experience in the wireless industry via a consulting firm or investment banking is a plus.
As a Senior Business Analyst within the Wireless Product Strategy team, you will be responsible for creating, owning, and operating large, complex financial models and presentations in support of the short and long-term strategic direction of the mobile group. You will collaborate with key stakeholders across various organizations including but not limited to: The executive management team, finance, pricing, marketing, operations, and engineering.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
• Candidate must have advanced-level skills in Excel (VBA experience a plus) and PowerPoint. We’re looking for someone that can both build and operate Excel-based models and create executive-level PowerPoint presentations used to present their findings.
• Owns all aspects of the highly complex financial models used to make strategic decisions and ensure the competitive positioning of products and services in the marketplace. Must be comfortable working within the bounds of existing models but will be encouraged to make necessary adjustments to improve model functionality and outputs.
• Build robust and easy-to-digest financial models with multiple scenarios used for evaluating growth initiatives, strategy development, project analysis
• Executes special projects as needed and performs other duties as requested by the supervisor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel modeling expertise
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner with all levels of management and company personnel
• Strong understanding and utilization of corporate finance concepts, including, but not limited to: discounted cash flow and NPV analysis, discount rates, IRR calculations, etc.
• Must be comfortable with frequent two-way communication with key stakeholders across the business including members of the product, finance, business development, corporate development, marketing, and engineering organizations.
• Ability to think strategically and create and drive strategies that align with overall company goals
• Expert analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Previous valuation analysis experience is preferred
• Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality
• Highly organized and task-oriented – able to manage multiple work streams on the same day
• Ability to work independently and to make recommendations and decisions without direction
• Strong business sense and sense of urgency to achieve business results
• Works well under pressure while still delivering a strong work product
• Basic knowledge of the wireless industry and the technology used in wireless networks is preferred, but not required
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Master’s degree is preferred, but not required.
