OverviewMerrick & Company is seeking a LiDAR Analyst II. Responsibilities will
require that the candidate have excellent computer skills, be a quick
learner, and be able to handle daily, repetitive, computer-based tasks.
This position would be based out of our Greenwood Village (Denver
Metro),CO ofJob Description
Primary responsibilities of this individual(s) will be to:
Understand projection and datums.
Understand and update geodatabases.
Collect/create stream networks from DEM rasters and edit line work for
hydrographic feature data sets.
Review aerial LiDAR point cloud data classification for correctness.
Manually classify/filter aerial LiDAR point cloud data
Work independently and as part of the team performing several GIS and lidar
tasks.
Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Software (Desktop and Pro)
Experience with ESRI Arc Hydro tools.
Experience with populating FGDC Metadata (xml files).
Validate and ensure data quality and accuracy.
Assisting and training other technical staff.
Stay current with GIS technology.
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned such as:
Familiar with Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure and
Environment (SDSFIE) geodatabases.
The candidate must have strong dedication to quality and efficiency to succeed
in this position.
Education and Experience
An ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in geospatial technologies is a plus, but not required.
Minimum 5 years of GIS, LiDAR, mapping, CAD, and/or survey
experience is required.
ArcGIS (Desktop and Pro) experience required.
Elevation Derived Hydrography (EDH) or other watershed modeling work
experience is a plus, but not required.
PLSCADD knowledge is plus.

Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without
getting distracted.
May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
