Description We are in search of a Database Administrator to join our team. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Database Administrator, you will be involved in managing and optimizing our SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance and security, and providing database-related support to our development and operations teams.Responsibilities: Installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases and related applications. Monitoring and optimization of database performance, including implementing indexing strategies and query optimization. Implementation and management of backup and recovery strategies to maintain data integrity and availability. Management of database security measures, including user access control and data encryption. Diagnosis and resolution of database-related issues, such as performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems. Application of updates and patches to SQL Server instances to ensure their security and up-to-dateness. Creation and maintenance of documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Collaboration with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support application development and system integration. Monitoring and forecasting of database capacity requirements to ensure scalability and performance. Ensuring databases comply with relevant regulations and standards.Requirements Must have a strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices Must have hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL is required Must have experience in Backup Technologies to ensure data safety Must have solid technical skills in Database Administration Must have experience in Database Tuning to ensure efficient data retrieval Must have skills in SQL Performance Tuning for optimizing database systems Experience in SQL Tuning to improve server performance is essential Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Able to maintain confidentiality and conduct business using highest ethical standards.
