AdventHealth Rocky Mountain region is seeking an experienced APP to support AHMG Urology at DTC with a primary focus on clinical services in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Delivery of patient care is conducted in collaboration with surgeons and physicians including, but not limited to, physical exams, diagnosis and treatment, ordering and interpreting tests, counseling on preventative health, writing prescriptions and assisting in surgery at BOTH AdventHealth Littleton and AdventHealth Parker.Under administrative guidance and physician supervision, the APP will provide comprehensive primary care services, acute care services and extended care services in the area of nursing and/or medicine for individuals and their families
Evaluates and treats patients with acute, chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns which include the following:
Assessment of patient health status through physical exam, reviewing patient history, diagnostic tests and procedures and reviewing labs and other critical data.
Diagnosis of acute and chronic conditions
Initiating orders for medications, laboratory and other diagnostic testing
Prescribing interventions and performing therapeutic measures to ensure the appropriate individualized plan of care is implemented.
Implementing changes in drug treatment therapy as ordered by the physician(s) and/or healthcare providers
Assists in surgery
Call responsibilities determined by program-specific needs
Coordinating information flow among medical, ancillary, nursing, financial and insurance personnel
3+ years of experience as an APP
Basic surgical skills are a requirement
If Nurse Practitioner - must have successfully completed undergraduate and Master’s level-nursing programs, passed state boards, and achieved ARNP status.
If Physician Assistant - must hold a baccalaureate degree, or a minimum of two years of college credits, and have graduated from a physician assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills
Sound clinical judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Effective time-management skills in a high-stress environment
Ability to maintain effective relationships while remaining flexibility to work with patients, families and all members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Initiative to keep abreast of new information/products/developments in assigned specialty
Computer skills and ability to work effectively across multiple electronic medical records (EMRs)
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Current, valid State of Colorado license or ability to obtain one
