This position will be an employee of Charles Schwab & Co. and will be subject to its human resources and risk policies and procedures but will report to and be accountable to Schwab Charitable for day-to-day activities.The role of the Schwab Charitable Senior Manager - IT Program Management can be based in either Westlake, TX or Lone Tree, CO and reports into the Director of the Schwab Charitable Project Office. The Project Office is responsible for providing Project Portfolio, Program, and Project level governance and oversight to the $17M+ project portfolio for FY24. This role within the Schwab Charitable Project Office will oversee and implement key strategic initiatives in the capacity of Project Portfolio Management, Portfolio Oversight and Program management.Responsibilities:

Project Portfolio Management

Play a supporting role in defining the SCF PMO and Digital Solutions team engagement model

Act as an SME on where projects have interdependencies and where addition alignment is needed

Act as Program Manager on key business & technology & driven programs to help define engagement models

Facilitate Portfolio Level Reporting and provide Portfolio Level Roadmap view of in-flight efforts (both technology and business driven)

Own financial tracking on projects

Support resource and capacity tracking across in-flight initiatives; partner with the Strategic Planning team to help inform resource availability for newly proposed initiatives

Support the development of a centralized repository for all Portfolio data

Contribute to the evolution of Lean Portfolio Management methodologies within Charitable business

Provide input into elevating the monthly Project Office and Project Governance Meetings

Project Portfolio Oversight

Provide oversight for the Charitable Portfolio - Business & Technology

Oversee Governance & Reporting

Manage Portfolio-Level Financial Reporting

Implement and educate Best Practices via Center of Excellence

Program Management

Managing Program level strategic initiatives within the Schwab Charitable organization involving both internal and external partners.

Provide Governance and thought partnership for SMT leaders & respective Business Functions

Execute, manage and ensure alignment with Strategic Priorities

Identify, mitigate, and escalate material Risks & Issues

Provide Stakeholder Management

Project Management

Accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering business and operational deliverables

Ensuring end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit

Directly managing all aspects of the Program and Project life cycle and overseeing all

May partner with Schwab’s Central Project Management Office (CPMO) resources

Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters

Defining and tracking project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.

Assessing project health, progress and communicates updates effectively

Providing support for the enhancement and overall governance of the Schwab Charitable Project Office

Providing support for an internal project queue and front door process for all projects, enhancements, and maintenance efforts as well as related reporting

Being a thought partner and providing feedback and recommendations for enhancing the project process

Assisting with business process modeling, as needed

Assisting with the development of project related presentations and proposals

What you haveA successful candidate should possess the following:

BA/BS degree preferred

10+ years’ experience, preferably in the financial services, donor advised fund and/or non-profit industries.

Strong project management and methodology skills; experience with iterative development methodologies (Agile, Six Sigma, Rational Unified Process, etc).

Strong relationship building and partnerships skills; a strong team player with experience leading others both directly and indirectly

Ability to mobilize and motivate cross-functional teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace.

An adaptive, self-starter who can make significant progress with minimal direction and has the ability to multi-task and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines.

Excellent presentation and communications skills, both written and verbal, for audiences at all levels of the company to influence, build consensus and effectively communicate complex information

Scaled Agile SAFe LPM certification is a strong plus.

Experience in managing large Agile cross-functional teams & team resources is a strong plus.

Budget & financial management experience is a strong plus.

Some product and/or technology delivery experience is a plus.

Change management experience is a plus.

Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Adobe Acrobat, etc.

Experience with iKnow/Sharepoint Administration

Experience with business process modeling tools (Visio, iGraphx, etc).a plus

Hybrid Work at Schwab -

Employees will have a consistent hybrid schedule, spending three days each week working from one of our corporate offices and two days working from remotely.
