Payroll Specialist

Description We are on the hunt for a Part Time Human Resources / Payroll Administrator to join our team in LONGMONT, Colorado. The hours of this role will be Wednesday - Friday 8 am - 5pm. You must live in Colorado and be able to commute into the office each of the three days. This role is primarily involved with HR administration, employee relations, and accounting functions, with a strong emphasis on compliance with labor laws and benefits administration. The function spans across various areas including ensuring the accurate processing of payroll and maintaining related records. This temporary, long-term position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our team's efficiency and success.Responsibilities: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions Administer benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance Handle payroll queries from employees and external partners Conduct auditing of payroll records to ensure compliance with applicable laws Coordinate meetings to discuss payroll-related matters and provide employee assistance where necessary Maintain knowledge of current labor laws and ensure the organization's compliance Manage the administration of employee timesheets and implement strategies for their effective management Handle employee relations and feedback, including resolving any payroll-related complaints.Requirements Minimum of 3 years experience in a Payroll Administration role or similar position. Minimum of 3 years experience in a Human Resources Generalist role or similar position. Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems for payroll processing. Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration is required. Familiarity with 'About Time' software for time tracking. Ability to perform Accounting Functions such as reconciliation and reporting. Experience in Auditing payroll data for accuracy. Knowledge of Benefit Functions and Human Resources (HR) Administration. Ability to assist employees with queries (Employee Assistance). Capable of managing Employee Changes in a payroll context. Familiarity with Employee Handbook and its application in payroll. Skills in gathering Employee feedback for process improvement. Experience in Employee performance management related to payroll. Ability to maintain good Employee Relations. Experience in managing Employee Timesheets for payroll. Knowledge of Evaluation - Termination procedures from a payroll perspective. Experience in Conducting Phone Screens related to payroll enquiries. Ability to Coordinate Meetings with various stakeholders for payroll matters. Familiarity with Credentialing in relation to payroll. Knowledge of Labor Law as it pertains to payroll. Experience in Benefits Administration. Proficiency in Deltek ComputerEase software for payroll management.
