Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 INDEFINITE EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1296000 and is part of the CO CSMS 07, National Guard. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Full Assistant to a supervisor who has responsibility for providing overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions. Responsibilities Planning: Provides direct input or participates in meetings and/or conferences with engineering, production control, and other personnel involving the initial analysis of long-range work requirements. Work Direction: Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines, and establishes the sequence of work operations to be followed. Administration: Develops and establishes internal procedures (e.g., meetings, content, and timing of reports) to be followed by subordinate supervisors to assure effective control and direction of work activities, organizations, and personnel supervised. Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: W-1 thru O-3 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. 2. Experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying interconnected complex systems on a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. 3. Experience working with state of the art electrical, electronic, complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and other major non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of major mechanical systems. 4. Experience working with hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls. 5. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. 6. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines? 7. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. 8. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Relocation and Recruitment Incentives Eligibility: Recruitment-Employee newly appointed to a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days. Relocation-Current employee who relocates to accept a position in a new geographic area. If you are eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that's a 3 or higher. Payments: Up to 25% of the annual rate of basic pay as of the beginning of the service period (includes locality pay/special rate supplement) multiplied by number of years (and fractions) covered by the service agreement. Subject to availability of funds and must be approved by TAG. Education Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position. Per ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum #10-39, mandatory Full Time Staff (FTS) training is required within a year of hire as a condition of employment in vacancy announcements for both Technician and Active Guard Reserve positions. Failure of new FTS personnel to complete NGB prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment to other full-time positions or termination of their employment. 8.
