QC Chemist I - TempJob DetailsJob LocationMead, COSalary Range$27.00 - $29.00 HourlyDescriptionWe are seeking a QC Chemist I. This person will conduct quality control analysis on substances to support our Production, Pilot Plant, and R&D groups utilizing quantitative and qualitative analysis. The QC Chemist I will utilize appropriate analytical methodologies and instrumentation to perform all duties.This is an hourly, 12-hour shift position. The QC Chemist I schedule is a rotating schedule between days and nights. The shifts start at either 6:30am or 6:30pm. Every 12 weeks the shift changes to night shift for 12 weeks. All night shift hours pay a shift differential. The weekly rotation is:Week 1: 36 hours worked on Sunday, Wednesday, and ThursdayWeek 2: 48 hours (includes 8 hours of overtime pay) worked on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and SaturdayJob Responsibilities
Performs analytical tests with the guidance of an experienced or Lead Chemist
Focuses on final testing, but also performs in-process testing with guidance within 3 months of start
Independently follows work instructions and test methods for product testing
Consults batch records and developmental test methods for pilot plant testing
Prepares and validates laboratory standards and reagents
Performs analyses safely and participates in safety improvements
Reviews results when required
Performs instrument validations and maintenance with guidance of Instrument Support Technician
QualificationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Science with zero to two years of industrial experienceExperience
Basic wet chemistry experience
Experience running experiments in safe manner with proper PPE
Experience reviewing data
Quality control experience preferred
Working ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee will be required to wear appropriate PPE at all times.
