Description If you're looking to further your career in accounting and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half has a terrific short-term contract / temporary Staff Accountant position available for you to check out. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Mead, Colorado region.Your responsibilities

Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Maintain monthly payment schedules

Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings

Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Skilled with ERP systems

Self-starter and strong ethical standards

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Wide ranging experience with Job Cost

Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred

High-Volume Invoicing experience highly desired

Well-founded grasp of Sage 300

Quality experience with Construction Accounting

Strong familiarity with financial reporting

General familiarity with NetSuite

Foundational knowledge in general ledger

Practical knowledge of construction

Proven knowledge of journal entries

Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
