Effective Date: January 2, 2023POSITION SUMMARY:
To promote, maintain, and improve individual and community health by
assisting individuals and communities to adopt healthy behaviors and prevent
disease. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for
identifying, assessing, and prioritizing the public health needs and
conditions and developing evidence-based responses. The Public Health
Specialist participates in program planning, implementation, and
evaluation efforts. This position delivers population-based interventions,
including education and skill-building; use media strategies for message
framing and delivery; develop relationships to improve community health

or essential functions of this job at any time.? Assess the health needs of a community or priority population
using various methods.
? Conduct process and impact evaluation of health education initiatives.
? Build partnerships with target community groups,
coalitions, and organizations.
? Participate in program planning, goal setting, and quality
improvement activities.
? Develop media campaigns to raise awareness of public health
issues and concerns.
? Select, develop and deliver education and disseminate health
promotion materials to appropriate and relevant audiences.
? Provide education to individuals, families, and groups.
? Collaborate with other organizations to develop and implement
health programs.
? Enters pertinent data into various computer programs
completing appropriate forms and documentation.
? Assists in communicating with the public via various modes of
communication (phone, internet, etc.)
? Participates in required training specific to public health.
? Accounts payable/accounts receivable for all public health programs
? Community outreach and education.
? Assist with clinic management.
? Represent RBC PH during a variety of virtual and in-person
meetings for local, regional and state programsJOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
? Knowledge of and experience delivering comprehensive health
education and health promotion interventions, or the willingness to learn.
? Knowledge and experience in advocacy.
? Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal
skills; a team player who can work collaboratively.
? Skilled in problem-solving and identifying opportunities to
improve health education and health promotion services.
? Demonstrated ability as a self-starter who can prioritize and
conduct multiple activities.
? Insurance billing; medicare / medicaid / private billing.
? Accounts receivable and payable.
? Rules and regulations in a clinic / health care setting.
? HIPPA compliance
? Acute attention to detail.
? Knowledge of body substance isolation and bloodborne pathogen safety.
? Knowledge of personal protective equipment and biohazard use
and safety.
? Interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
? Public communication.
? Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the
required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential

? High school diploma or equivalent, required.
? Associates or bachelor degree preferred.
? Experience in a clinic / healthcare setting preferred.Licenses or Certificates:
? Valid Driver LicensePhysical Demands:
? The ability to reach, grasp, stand, talk and hear,
sit, and occasionally lift 20 lbs.
? Operation of a computer and other electronic, technical,
and health instruments and machines germane to the position.
