Summary
Maintains and repairs irrigation systems including replacing valves, manifolds, sprinkler lines, etc
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Turns irrigation systems on and off as designated Winterization/Blowout Systems
2. Operates and Adjust/Set timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
3. May assist in various maintenance activities as required.
4. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
5. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assign ed.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Minimum Computer/Internet Knowledge and Usage
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operate timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
Understanding and Knowledge of Irrigation System Winterization and Blow Out Procedures
Knowledge of manual and/or computerized irrigation systems.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Good customer relation
Distinguishing Characteristics
Position requires: a) Operating electrical and plumbing components such as timers, clocks, sprinkler controls, valves, and other accessories; b) turning irrigation systems off and on.
Conditions of Employment
A valid driver's license will be required if a motor vehicle must be operated on the job and a driving record that will allow insurance.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
