Aspen Public House, new restaurant opening in the iconic Wheeler Opera House in downtown Aspen is looking for a general manager. The restaurant has one of the best, most prominent locations in the state of Colorado. Aspen Public House will be open for breakfast, lunch & dinner as well as having a vibrant late-night bar scent. The general manager will work directly under the owner and assist in the day to day administration of the business and the daily restaurant operations. A "Danny Meyer"-style philosophy will be applied to FOH hospitality practices.
This position will include many "GM"-type responsibilities including:
-Bar COGS managment
-Bar purchasing
-Bar inventory management
-FOH scheduling
-FOH hiring/firing
-Ensuring overall customer satisfaction
Location costs can be covered depending on the total amount.
The compensation will reflect the responsibilities. Understanding how to accurately track inventory and calculate the overall liquor COGS (beyond the theoretical pour cost) is a must. Knowledge of wine and cocktails would be very helpful. Serving/bartending experience mandatory. Additional benefits include: a full ski pass, paid vacation, health insurance stipend.
