TEKsystems is hiring an Entry-Level Administrative Assistant / Patient Access Representative to join our team. We’re looking for a friendly, organized, and reliable individual who enjoys working with people and wants to gain experience in healthcare or a professional office setting.
Job Duties:
- Register patients and complete all related functions, including obtaining consents, authorizations, and financial paperwork (e.g., patient responsibility statements, co-payments).
- Communicate effectively with patients to assist with access to care:
- Answer phones and incoming communications promptly.
- Provide accurate information and follow up when needed.
- Respond to all non-clinical questions and deliver excellent customer service in person and over the phone.
- Schedule appointments and educate patients on pre- and post-exam requirements.
- Organize and distribute patient reminders, results, and recall letters.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including medical necessity and plan of care audits.
- Establish and maintain patient files; scan medical records into EMR systems.
- Manage office correspondence (mail, email, faxes, calls) and route to appropriate staff.
- Monitor and order front desk supplies.
- Attend staff meetings and comply with CMS, HIPAA, EMTALA, and Joint Commission requirements.
- Complete Medicare-related documentation (ABNs, Secondary Payer Questionnaires) and maintain accurate authorization records.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Customer Service or Clerical Background
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency
Pay and Benefits:
- The pay range for this position is $20.64 - $24.25/hr.
